When I was 10 years old my brother gave me my first Little River Band cassette tape for Christmas, I played it repeatedly until one day it just snapped in the cassette player.
I cried and cried until my brother returned home from work when he heard me and assumed I was sick, i was a very sick child, and only until he saw my swollen eyes and tear stained face did he realize I was completely heartbroken and asked me to explain. After we talked and I calmed he promised he would replace the cassette soon. Needless to say every time he came home and I would ask, "Did you get it"? Always the answer was "No".
Then one day when I asked the question as usual and he replied "yes". I was thrilled and elated and went running to him. He gave me a brown paper bag. I tore through it and what I found was not only the promised cassette but a shiny slick envelope with two tickets to a Little River Band concert. I couldn't believe I saw what I was seeing. It was a fact that my cassette was back and that my first ever concert experience was going to be with my brother to see the world's greatest band.
Since then I have had a Little River Band cassette or C.D. in every car/truck I've ever owned and I never miss seeing them when they come to town. Long Live LRB!
